SUCCESS STORIES
We are pleased to share with you some of our big successes with our past and present clients.
PANTONE
THE STORY
In 1962, visionary Larry Herbert revolutionized the standardization of color with the creation of the Pantone Matching System. By 2000, Pantone had become the go-to name for graphic designers and printers, and the company was ready to expand into new products and markets. Herbert then tapped ODA to help him expand the brand into the fashion and lifestyle realms, kicking off a lengthy relationship.
In addition ODA collaborated with Leatrice Eiseman, America’s foremost color psychologist, to create and publish the Pantone Fashion Color Report. The report, distributed at Fashion Week, featured a consensus of the top colors of the season, supported by interviews from nearly every designer showing in New York. More than two decades later, Pantone’s top 10 colors are still reported each season by the fashion industry’s top trade journal, WWD.
Another enduring initiative devised by ODA is the Pantone Color of the Year. Each year, Eiseman would analyze global trends and attitudes, and choose the Pantone Color that best suited the zeitgeist. Color of the Year quickly became a highly anticipated worldwide sensation and continues to garner billions of media impressions each year.
What's more, ODA launched Pantone Universe, a color- and design-driven lifestyle brand encompassing licensed goods including paint, stationery, furniture, and home textiles. ODA also worked with astrologer Michele Bernhardt to launch Colorstrology, a book that featured a personality system tied to Pantone Colors, and debuted ColorCue, a handheld spectrocolorimeter—a digital device that finds the closest Pantone Color match of any object.
BADGLEY MISCHKA
THE STORY
In 1988, two young designers approached ODA to help launch an eveningwear collection steeped in classic Hollywood glamour. We believed Mark Badgley and James Mischka’s vision of a more streamlined elegance could disrupt a landcape dominated by legacy brands.
Aligning the brand with the ascendant red carpet coverage, ODA partnered with celebrity stylists to create arresting looks for Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Winona Ryder, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren and more. Magazines took notice, and Badgley Mischka soon became shorthand for its fairy dust effect: "One zip and you're glamorous!"
Through our decades-long creative partnership, ODA has helped Badgley Mischka translate their vision to the bridal market, and then to wildly successful accessory, shoe and fragrance collections. ODA's positioning has been key to maintaining brand awareness and enduring cultural relevance.
MOËT & CHANDON
THE STORY
How does a venerable French Champagne become synonymous with New York style? Through a visionary campaign placing it at the center of NY Fashion Week and in the hands of the city's most glittering tastemakers.
Moet Hennessy asked ODA to align their brand with the fashion cognoscenti. ODA secured a multi-year partnership with the producers of New York Fashion Week, and created the first Moet & Chandon VIP lounge at the venue. ODA also collaborated with top editors and retailers to produce the "Moet & Chandon Designer Debut," a seasonal runway show that served as a launchpad for emerging designer talent.
Celebrities, designers, editors, models and style influencers were photographed sipping from chic mini-bottles in a constellation of settings. The exposure generated worldwide press and established Moet & Chandon as fashion's favorite bubbly.
ANNE BARGE
THE STORY
In the early 2000s, Anne Barge Clegg, the founder of her eponymous bridal company, began a partnership with ODA PR to spread awareness of the Anne Barge brand and its timeless designs. Throughout the decade-long partnership, ODA has helped secure the most distinguished media placements and brand collaborations within various outlets of the fashion and business industry in the U.S. and abroad.
In 2014, Shawne Jacobs assumed her role as the Creative Director and owner of Anne Barge. ODA continued to represent the bridal house throughout this transition while raising Jacob’s profile in the press and public eye. Through the support and collaboration between ODA and the company’s new team, Shawne Jacobs has become not only the new face of Anne Barge, but also a prominent force within the bridal industry.
ODA is proud of its role in significantly growing the brand awareness for Anne Barge at the national and local levels. These responsibilities include securing press attendance and coverage for all Anne Barge presentations during New York’s Fashion Bridal Week, executing new collection launches: Blue Willow in 2012, Black Label and Curve Couture in 2016, and more recently Little White Dress in 2020. In 2022, ODA successfully launched a publicity campaign for the new Anne Barge flagship store on 766 Madison Avenue in New York City.
Besides to securing high-profile press coverage for the brand, the ODA team has provided extensive pre- and post-market services, event planning and influencer dressing opportunities, as well as managing celebrity bridal collaborations. ODA’s relationships with up-and-coming and established stylists has created significant opportunities for the bridal and eveningwear company.
With the ongoing assistance of ODA’s services, Anne Barge continues to flourish as one of the most distinguished bridal and design houses in the United States today.
